My Life Purpose

As I ponder on what my purpose is in life, I have come to these conclusions:
1~ I am a Wife and Mother first and foremost. That is my number 1 priority. I have been given that responsibility by a Heavenly Father who knows me and loves me. If I don't do my part, no one else will do it for me. This is part of His plan...to create life, nurture souls, promote growth. I can't delegate it. I can't pass it on to anyone else. It is mine. And even though I'm not perfect, I do the best that I can with what I have been given. (part of this was taken from February 2009 Ensign Visiting Teaching message Julie B. Beck www.lds.org)
2~ My main purpose for this blog is to help others, especially women and girls, feel better about themselves both inside and out. We are all given unique gifts and talents that no one else can accomplish quite like we do. Embrace those gifts. Use those gifts to help you GLOW!!! I believe that each of us has been sent here by God for a purpose. "Our Heavenly Father wants you to remember that He is your Father. He wants you to remember your divine potential." (Parable of the Princesses script Jenny Phillips) You have a divine mission and you are the only one that can fulfill that mission. Each of us have been given different body types to house our spirits. We are not supposed to look alike, we are not supposed to be a like. We were made that way to give variety to the earth. I read in a book that a young woman was told by her mother "You must do everything you can to make your appearance pleasing, but the minute you walk out the door, forget yourself and start concentrating on others." (Modesty, Makeovers and the Pursuit of Physical Beauty, Jeffery R. Holland and Susan W. Tanner) I firmly believe that we should take pride in the way we look so we are not only pleasing to others but pleasing to ourselves...however, I also firmly believe that the more you learn to forget about yourself and focus on the needs of others, the better you will feel about yourself. Loving Others Validates self Esteem (see my Legacy of Love blog).
I want to share a quote. Oprah Winfrey said: "Be a queen. Dare to be different. Be a pioneer. Be a leader. Be the kind of woman who in the face of adversity will continue to embrace life and walk fearlessly toward the challenge. Take it on! Be a truth seeker and rule your domain whatever it is--your home, your office, your family--with a loving heart. Be a queen. Be tender. continue to give birth to new ideas and rejoice in your womanhood. My prayer is that we will stop wasting time being mundane and mediocre. We are daughters of God- here to teach the world how to love. It doesn't matter what you've been through, where you come from, who your parents are, nor your social or economic status. None of that matters. What matters is how you choose to love, how you choose to express that love through your work, through your family, through what you have to give to the world. Be a queen. Own your power and your glory!!!"
Isn't that a great quote! Find your purpose, embrace your God given talents, use those gifts to GLOW!!! You are beautiful & you deserve to feel and believe that!
